Wiltshire Senior Restricted Championships  Date  Monday October 2nd 2017  Assocation  National The Senior Restricted Championships took place at the Christie Miller Sports Centre on Sunday October 1st. There was a disappointing number of entries with 13 players in the Mens Singles, 5 in the Ladies Singles, 11 pairs in the Mens Doubles, 4 pairs in the ladies Doubles and 9 pairs in the Mixed Doubles. The Mens and Mixed events were played as a knock out with a plate competition for first match losers and the Ladies Events in a round robin group. The Mens Singles saw a new champion when Henry Prothero won a first senior title beating Andrew Jones in the final. The Ladies singles was retained by Lisa Elliott (Turner) as was the Mens Doubles when Jon McDonald and Jason Plant beat Andrew Jones and Simon Woodhouse in the final. The Ladies Doubles saw Lisa Elliott team up with Laura Pallett to win a group of 4 pairs. Laura is a newcomer to Wiltshire now living in Swindon having formerly played for Lancashire. The Mixed Doubles saw Jon McDonald and Laura Pallett beat Jason Plant and Lisa Elliott in a close 3 set final. Runner up Ella Scott Humphris Mens Doubles: Jonathan McDonald & Jason Plant beat Andrew Jones & Simon Woodhouse 21-17, 21-17. Ladies Doubles: Winners Lisa Elliott & Laura Pallett. Runners up Lucy Hull & Ella Scott Humphris. Mixed Doubles: Jonathan McDonald & Laura Pallett beat Jason Plant & Lisa Elliott 22-20, 15-21, 21-19.
