Mid Wilts 2nd in Tony Winslow Trophy  Date  Monday April 14th 2008  Assocation  National On Sunday a Mid Wilts team contested the Tony Winslow trophy against the other two areas at the Christie Miller Sports Centre and finished as runners up to Swindon. The team was; Alex Mole, Simon Carter, Derek Lamb, Adam McKenzie, darren Jones, Steve Longden, Breden Hall, John Flecther, Sarah Hosking, Theresa Farr, Jeanette Long-Able, Lisa Sandford, Heidi Paniccia, Anya Hembrough, Jerril Daw and Rebecca Hills and non playing Captain Graham Long. In the first round of matches Mid Wilts played Swindon and lost 6-2 in both the mens and ladies doubles and against Salisbury won 7-1 in both sets of doubles. In the second round the squad did much better and against Swindon the men lost 5-3 and the ladies drew 4-4; against Salisbury the men won 6-2 whilst the ladies drew 4-4. Before the mixed started Mid Wilts were 21-11 down against Swindon and 24-8 ahead against Salisbury. The remaining 8 mixed matches meant that Mid Wilts could only afford to lose 3 sets to Swindon to win the tournament and they only needed 1 set to beat Salisbury. Despite some valiant efforts by the team Swindon beat us 9-7 and we beat Salisbury 11-5 to leave the final results as follows: Swindon 30 Mid Wilts 18 Mid Wilts 35 Salisbury 13 Swindon 32 salisbury 16 Best Replica Watches Noteable performances during the day by the Mid Wilts team. Anya Hembrough had the best figures with a 10 - 2 record with a straight 6-0 against Salisbury closely followed by Heidi Paniccia with a 9-3 record against with a straight 6-0 against Salisbury. Anya's partners were Heidi Paniccia in the ladies and Simon Carter in the mixed. Heidi's partner in the mixed was Adam McKenzie.
